When I got pregnant for the first time, I experienced a very complicated pregnancy during which I spent every week in appointments and never knowing how long I'd get with my baby. Thankfully, my little girl made it here safely and perfectly, but the road to get there was littered with large medical bills, lots of exhaustion, and little time. All this made capturing this season extremely challenging for me, and while we were finally able to capture some photos of this season, it didn't come without its monetary and timely sacrifice. As I continue walking this motherhood journey in tandem with photography, I asked myself how I could best serve other moms. What does pay what you can mean?
Right after the birth of your baby, you will be busy paying hospital bills, pediatrician bills, buying new diapers, etc. Paying for a newborn shoot is usually not financially sustainable in this season! That's why I offer pay-what-you-can shoots for the newborn season, which means you literally pay me whatever you find fair and feasible! Rather than paying ahead of time, you just pay me on the day-of!
Should we bring props to our announcement or maternity shoots?
Yes, yes, and YES! Some of my favorite props for announcement posts are ultrasounds, newspaper announcements, pregnancy tests, baby clothes/items, flowers, and teddy bears! For maternity shoots, I love a really flowy dress that can double as a prop!
What does a home session look like?
Home sessions are the most ideal for individuals who are experiencing challenging pregnancies or postpartum recoveries and need something a little more convenient to their condition! I also think home sessions are a great way to document a sentimental season in your home! I show up and take photos wherever you want within or around your home, and am very flexible to whatever you need!
Do you do hospital fresh 24/48 hour shoots?
Yes! If you desire hospital photos, I am happy to join you in the hospital (or at your home, birthing center, etc.) for fresh 24/48 hour photos! The one thing I ask is you give me the phone number of an individual I can be in contact with leading up to the day-of so that I can report to the shoot as soon as you all are ready post birth!
Can my family be a part of maternity and/or newborn sessions?
Absolutely! The more the merrier! No extra charge due to added individuals during the session!
Do you do gender reveal photos?
Yes! I consider gender reveal photos to fall under the announcement package! Specify in your inquiry if you intend to do a gender reveal, please!
